Tech/UT Ticket Prices Skyrocket

Updated: September 14, 2009

The Red Raiders will take on the Texas Longhorns on Saturday and with ESPN's College Gameday headed to Austin, ticket prices are skyrocketing.

The Texas Tech ticket office sold out of tickets for the Texas game back in August.

So, if you're looking to go, tickets are still available on websites like clutchticketsonline.com or ebay.com, but they're expensive.

A pair of tickets will cost you between $400 and $1100 and the Tech ticket office warns fans to beware of counterfeit tickets.

"We saw a lot of people get ripped off last year with phony tickets on the street, that bought then right out here at the stadium and they were bogus tickets, counterfeit tickets. You never know who is selling authentic tickets, who is selling phony tickets and so just don't take the chance," Dave Welsh with Texas Tech ticket office says.

Tech ticket officials recommend watching the game on television.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on ABC.
