Wilcox Sentenced to 40 Years in Prison

Convicted kidnapper Kenneth Wilcox, has been sentenced ro 40 years in prison for the 2008 abduction of three Lubbock children. Wilcox was convicted of taking the children into the woods of Eastern Oklahoma and mentally terrorizing them.
The judge said he believes Wilcox is a dangerous man.
The 40-year sentence is double the mandatory minimum for the crime but the judge said he believes the sentence will deter Wilcox and anyone else from committing this type of crime again.
In an interview with KLBK months ago, Wilcox maintained his innocence.
"It's a trip that went bad. It's not a kidnapping. So why did i automatically go to jail? That's what i don't understand," Wilcox said.
Wilcox offered to serve "1,000 months or death" if he was not proven innocent. He plans to appeal the Judge Cummings's sentence.
