An overnight housefire has left a family of five homeless.
The fire started just before midnight at 1605 71st st.
Investigators say a red Ford Expedition with faulty wiring caught fire. That fire spread, catching two other vehicles on fire before moving on to the house.
The lubbock fire department quickly put the flames out, and the family inside escaped with no injuries.
Josie pena, a victim of the fire, says it was tough to watch the family home burn, especially when her daughter asked a tough question. "You see your house 'gulfed in flames and you wonder, 'Is it all going to burn down?'. And she's like, 'Mommy, is our house going to burn down?'. And I'm like, 'No, it'll be OK.'. But in my mind I'm thinking, you know, it could," said Pena.
The family says their may have been a recall on the Expedition. The fire department is still investigating.
