If you drive in Northwest Lubbock, some major road closures will affect your commute starting Wednesday night.

All West Loop 289 main lane traffic will be detoured onto the frontage roads between Frankford and Quaker Avenues.

Eastbound Fourth Street traffic will move onto the Southbound Loop frontage roads to the u-turns.

And Westbound Fourth Street traffic will be directed onto the Northbound Loop frontage roads to the u-turns.

TxDot officials say this part of town is continuing to grow, so they're planning for the future by both repairing and builidng new bridges, as well as widening the Loop in this area.

The project is slated for completion in 15 months.
