Many say the high gas prices are making independent truckers sell their trucks and join big companies.

With less truckers on the road and higher gas prices, some truckers say the price of goods will rise and put more strain on American wallets.

"When I first started seven years ago," said John Williamson, a trucker form Kentucky, "it was a really good way to make a living. Fuel prices came up, and the more they came up, the more I had to re-adjust our family lifestyle."

Williamson said he doesn't believe the fuel situation will get any better any time soon.
