Lubbock Police Officer Marsh Blackmore took the stand just before noon Thursday.

During his testimony, Blackmore became pale and short of breath as he talked about why he tased L.J. McCallan.

You'll remember Blackmore is accused of using excessive force while tasing McCallan back in July 2006.

The judge quickly cleared the courtroom and Blackmore was rushed to the hospital by EMS crews.

No word on what caused his illnes.

The trial is set to resume Friday morning.
