NORMAN,Oklahoma--Oklahoma remains unbeaten in Big 12 conference play. The No. 17 Lady Sooners beat the Lady Raiders, 63-57, Wednesday night.
Tech was without Marsha Sharp, who was hospitalized for flu-like symptoms earlier in the day. Medication given to her at the hospital left her heavily sedated and unable to coach. Assistant coach Krista Kirkland Gerlich coached the Lady Raiders, while Coach Sharp watched the game from Oklahoma mens basketball coach Kelvin Sampson`s office.
Tech had difficulty in trying to contain Oklahoma freshman Courtney Paris, who had 17 points and 19 rebounds in the game.
Tech also had problems making their shots, shooting just under 30-percent for the game and going 14-of 25 from the free throw line.
Tech was able to get close at times in the second half, but the Lady Raiders didn`t score a basket in the final four minutes of the game.
Alesha Robertson led Tech with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Coach Sharp says she expects to be coaching the Lady Raiders (7-8, 2-2) Saturday, when they take on Nebraska at the United Spirit Arena.
