Over the weekend a local man was found and tragedy was averted. It's all thanks to the Silver Alert program.
76-year-old Charles Caraway went missing friday evening around 5:30. His wife notified the authorities and they put out a Silver Alert.
Instantly Charles Caraway's name and description were all over the radio, the tv, and the internet. This allowed authorities to find him safe and sound in Levelland.
Now Charles's wife Ruth says she's happy. And she's not sure what could have happened without the Silver Alert.
"I'm just really grateful and prayed to the Lord that they had found him so quickly cause he hadn't eaten anything in a couple days and then he hadn't had his medicine and so that would've brought on a problem," Ruth Caraway said.
