First Freeze: Did it hurt the Cotton Crop?

The Hub City survives the first freeze of the season this morning, but did our cotton crop?
We're right at the beginning of harvest season, and it's expected to be a really good crop this year, with a projected $4-million bales. That's actually better than last year.
So you'd think, with a lot of the cotton left unharvested so far, that our first freeze this morning would hurt a lot of it out there. But, our area producers are thinkin' ahead, and they say this freeze is nothing to worry about.
Shawn Wade, Plains Cotton Growers: "It's not the cold weather that's going to hurt us. It's if we maybe get a big snow, or maybe get some rainfall, that keeps producers out of the field while they're trying to gather their crops."
We're told everything should be harvested by Thanksgiving, and at the latest, by Christmas.
