The holiday season is almost here and City Bank is once again gearing up for its Community Rewards Program.  Members from local non-profit organizations gathered at City Bank's Griffith Center for a kickoff luncheon.  This year city, City Bank announced it will awar 10 local charities $5,000 each to assist them in their commitment to community service.  Winners will be chosen by you!  All you have to do is log online and vote for your favorite charity.  City Bank says the program not only helps charities, but hopes it promotes giving through out the Holiday Season.

"We also thought it was a great opportunity to get other people involved and we hope through the excitement and through the energy that this all comes together that hopefully we'll bring new awareness to these organizations," said Cory Newsom, President and CEO of City Bank.

Last year's winner was Early Learning Centers which received more than 20,000 votes and $10,000.  Early Learning Centers is a Lubbock area United Way agency providing child care for low income families for more than 60 years.  ELC said even though the amount of the award is less than last year's it doesn't matter because every little bit counts.

"Agencies like this City Banke that are really willing top help out non profit agencies, we really appreciate that and it really helps us a lot," said Sharla Manale, Education Director for ELC.

Voting begins Sunday, November 8th.  To cast your vote for your favorite charity, just log onto www.citybankonline.com and the more times you vote, the better chance your charity has of winning.
