We could see cold and dangerous weather over the next few months, so today, Lubbock's Meals on Wheels delivered its emergency meals.  More than 550 of those emergency meals were delivered to homes across the Hub City.  If Meals on Wheels deliveries are cancelled due to bad weather, this "meal in a box" is mean to tide over a homebound person until, hot fresh food can be delivered safely.

"It's something that is very easy to prepare.  It can be done in a microwave, ya know many of our people don't have ovens that work and things of that nature, but this is gonna get them through for basically one day," said Lorrie Bellair, Executive Director of Lubbock's Meals on Wheels.

1,300 volunteers done their time to meals on wheels, which delivers to more than 500 homebound, elderly and disabled people every day.
