Four years ago Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and sent more than 500 evacuees to live in the Hub City. Deborah Forbs is one of those evacuees, who has since made Lubbock her home. Ouf of 580 Katrina victims there are only 68 still here. Forbs said, there's no reason for her to go back to New Orleans. She's made a fresh start, including a brand new home thanks to Habitat for Humanity. Forbs said her entire family has since moved back to New Orleans and she's gone to visit, but adds it makes her upset to see that not much has changed.
"We had everything that we ever wanted so ya know for you to sit down and think about what you lost it was irrelevant. I didn't want to have to go back and wade in other water, fight another hurricane. You get tired after awhile, ya know? That was my fourth one," said Deb Forbs, Hurricane Katrina survivor.
