UIL Announces District Re-alignments

On Thursday, the University Interscholastic League announced its district re-alignments for the 2006-08 school years. Every two years, the UIL re-aligns school district in an effort to keep the districts balanced, and prevent schools from traveling too far for competitions. The area districts shape up like this: District 2-5A: Amarillo, Amarillo Tascosa, Lubbock High, Coronado, Monterey, San Angelo Central District 4-4A: Big Spring, Estacado, Plainview, San Angelo Lake View, Frenship District 3-3A: Andrews, Lamesa, Midland Greenwood, Snyder District 4-3A: Brownfield, Levelland, Cooper, Seminole District 2-2A: Amarillo Highland Park, Amarillo River Road, Bushland, Dimmitt, Friona, Muleshoe, Tulia District 3-3A: Abernathy, Childress, Floydada, Littlefield, Lockney, Shallowater District 4-3A: Denver City, Idalou, Roosevelt, Post, Slaton, Tahoka District 4-1A: Bovina, Springlake-Earth, Farwell, Hart, Nazareth, Sudan District 5-1A: Anton, Crosbyton, Hale Center, New Deal, Olton, Ralls District 7-1A: Morton, O`Donnell, Plains, Seagraves, Smyer, Sundown Division 1 District 1-Six Man: Sands, Fort Davis, Garden City, Grady, Rankin Division 1 District 4-Six Man: Meadow, New Home, Ropes, Wellman-Union, Whiteface Division 1 District 5-Six Man: Happy, Kress, Lorenzo, Petersburg, Silverton Division 1 District 7-Six Man: Aspermont, Knox City, Rule, Spur, Throckmorton Division 2 Division 3-Six Man: Grandfalls-Royalty, Imperial Buena Vista, Klondike, Loop, Dawson Division 2 District 4-Six Man: Borden County, Hermleigh, Jayton, Loraine, Trent Division 2 District 5-Six Man: Amherst, Cotton Center, Southland, Whitharral, Wilson Division 2 District 7-Six Man: Groom, Lazbuddie, Motley County, McLean, Samnorwood Football schedules will not be final until February 21st, after any appeals have been made to the UIL.
