Tech officials announce on Sunday they accepted an invitation to the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, FL.  It's Texas Tech's 4th appearance at the Gator Bowl since 1954, and this time they'll be taking on the University of Virginia Cavaliers.  The game is scheduled to start at 12-noon on New Years Day.  If you are interested in going to the Gator Bowl you can get tickets at www.texastech.com or by calling 1-888-GO-BIG-12.  Prices range from $50-$75.  Also, right now, flights from LBB to JAX, leaving on Dec. 31st and coming back on Jan. 2nd, are going for $460 and up.  Those flights are on American and Continental.  Southwest may also be an option and you may be able to find cheaper flights depending on how many stops you are willing to make.  The university is offering Tech students a deal.  Starting on Thursday, you can buy up to 2 of the $50 tickets at half price.  Just stop by the athletic ticket office on the north end of the Jones AT&T Stadium.
