Patrol officers found a dead body inside a pick up truck around 10 Wednesday morning. They found the body of 48 year-old Paul Brown lying inside a pick up truck facing Quaker Avenue, a very busy road. The other suspicious part of this death is that police have reason to believe - and neighbors confirm - that the pick up truck was parked there for several days before anyone discovered the body of Brown, from Tulia, inside. Officers came out around 10 a.m. to investigate. They broke one of the truck's windows to get to the body. Officers have spent the day interviewing neighbors and talking to business owners along 85th St. They did ask several neighbors to come to the police station to give statements, but tell us right now they have no suspect in this case.
"In these situations, we do an investigation that is a complete homicide investigation from the beginning so that if that is the determination that is made, we don't have to play catch up later on, so that no matter what the cause of death is determined to be, all the T's are crossed and the I's are dotted," says Cpt. Greg Stevens with the Lubbock Police Department.
Police are leaning toward foul play.
