South Plains Mall Security

Yesterday's tragic mall shooting in Nebraska is making folks re-evaluate our own security here in the Hub city.

The South Plains Mall does have plenty of security guards especially around the holidays. They do not carry guns, but the mall works closely with Lubbock police. Some shoppers out today told us they felt a little worried about shopping because of the potential of a copycat crime.

But others say they weren't too worried. We went out today to talk about security at the south plains mall, and to see if yesterday's horrific event is hindering holiday shoppers.

Texas Legislature Passes Commercial and Industrial PACE Bill
The Texas House and Senate passed Senate Bill 385 in May.
