A public all-girls school will be in Lubbock in a matter of months.

The Lubbock Independent School District held a luncheon Tuesday; discussing some of the details of the new school.

A Dallas-based group, The Foundation for the Education of Young Women has already set up three other similar schools throughout the state; and they selected Lubbock to be one more.

The school is focused on giving girls a solid basis for college, inspiration to lead their communities, and instilling wellness.

So far officials say, in their schools, 100% of girls graduate from high school and 100% go on to college.

The foundation's other schools are in Dallas and Austin. A school in San Antonio will open in the fall.

Lubbock's school is set to open where Hunt Elementary used to be in the fall of 2008; beginning with sixth and seventh grade.  They will add a new grade each year until they reach 12th grade.
