Folks in the Hub are already preparing to send volunteers and donations to Haiti.

The Lubbock Area Baptist Association tells us their group has a truck in Dallas right now. That truck is full of food and water purification units for Haitians. A local doctor who spent time in Haiti as a missionary tells us the poverty level - even before the earthquake - was beyond comparison.

"They've never had a stable government, it's always one dictatorship after another and there's huge enormous breaks between the extremely wealthy and most of the country is poverty-stricken totally, and there's no welfare system of any kind," says Dr. David Hamblen.
