Unsolved Murders of 2007

        We ended 2007 with 16 homicides.  Police quickly solved 13 of them, but 3 remain unsolved.

       
        Police found the body of 40-year-old Selena Kuykendall back in April.  They say someone beat and killed her somewhere else then dumped her body on a dirt road in Northeast Lubbock. Then in September, someone shot 28-year-old John Wilkerson multiple times in his East Lubbock driveway.  In October, police say 4 men used a blunt object to beat 40-year-old Monty Edler to death in Southwest Lubbock.  Police have made no arrests in these murders and say they need your help closing the cases.

unsolved32008-01-03-1199420982.jpg"In most of our cases they have leads and lots of information pointing in a certain direction, but the way criminal cases go we have to reach a certain level of provability, and it could be just that one piece of information the public gives that helps them achieve that," says Lt. John Caspell with the LPD.
