A sacrifice fly in the ninth from Carson Kainer got the Texas Longhorns past Tech, 4-3, on Friday.
In the bottom of the fourth, Tech`s Roger Kieschnick hit an RBI single that scored Brian Capps to give the Red Raiders a 1-0 lead.
Texas would reply in the fifth with three runs on four hits.
Tech would tie the game in the seventh when Capps hit a single, scoring Blair Wilkins, while a throwing error allowed Willie Rueda home.
Red Raider reliever Randy Gattis hit two Texas batters in the top of the ninth. He was replaced by Colt Hynes, who walked the next batter to load the bases, setting Kainer up for the win.
Gattis (2-1) got the loss for Tech.
The Red Raiders (16-7, 0-1) and the Longhorns return to the diamond on Saturday.
