Norman, OK (Sports Network) - Longar Longar's bucket with less than one minute to play in regulation gave Oklahoma a much needed four-point cushion, as his 16 points helped the Sooners hold off the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 63-61, in Big 12 play at the Lloyd Noble Center.
Taylor Griffin posted an outstanding 16-point, 12-rebound effort to halt Oklahoma's (13-5, 1-2 Big 12) brief two-game losing streak. Tony Crocker added 15 points, and David Godbold rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points.
Zeno Martin tallied 17 points to pace Texas Tech (10-7, 1-2), while John Roberson and Alan Voskuil each contributed 14 points in the losing effort. Roberson also recorded team-highs of seven rebounds and five assists.
In a slow-paced first half, the Red Raiders' defense held Oklahoma to nine field goals in taking a 26-23 lead at the break.
In the second session, the teams' roles reversed, as the Sooners' defense stepped up and the offense shot 47.1 percent from the floor to complete the comeback.
Oklahoma showed a lot of heart in the rebounding department, where the Sooners held a 40-27 advantage, including a decisive 13-2 edge on the offensive glass.
