REDCROSSTHEIF-VO2008-01-24-1201233484.jpgLubbock's chapter of Red Cross was hit by thieves Tuesday night.  Employees and volunteers say they arrived Wednesday morning to find the specialized vehicle called the Gator....gone.

The Gator and the trailer it was on totals over $12,000 dollars.  The Gator was used for large events to help in medical situations.  Now folks at the non-profit organization say they can't imagine who would steal from the red cross.

Chris Sims, Board Chair, Red Cross:
"With any non-profit charity that's there to help people, they're not paid what they need to be paid.  We try to do our best, so they're doing it a lot out of their heart...with all the non-profits in town and across the South Plains.  So when you have someone come and steal a piece of equipment that you use to help people, sure that hurts a little bit."

The Red Cross is asking for your help to find their Gator.  Call the Crimeline if you see the bright Green ATV with an elongated back.  It was on a black trailer with the license plate number 76W-XWL.
