COPPERTHIEVES2008-02-04-1202180692.jpgAuthorities catch two thieves who stole more than $40,000 dollars worth of copper from the ethanol plant.

The men arrested were both former employees of the construction company I.C.M, a company working on the ethanol project.  37-year-old Robert Perez and 38-year-old David Dent were arrested last week and bonded out.

They're now awaiting trail.  Officials with the Hockley County Sheriff's Department say they've been searching for these men since November...and problems with copper and construction thefts continue to be a problem.

"This problem is going on all over this part of Texas...out of Plainview and Terry County and different counties around having the same problem.  So there's quite a few people watching this."
