Waco, TX (Sports Network) - Curtis Jerrells tallied 16 points and the Baylor Bears held off the Texas Tech Red Raiders for an 80-74 victory in a Big 12 Conference affair at the Ferrell Center.

Jerrells finished the contest 6-of-10 from the floor and with three steals, as Baylor (17-4, 5-2 Big 12) snapped a two-game slide. Josh Lomers and LaceDarius Dunn each turned in 14 points, while Kevin Rogers had 10 points in the winning effort.

Mike Singletary led Texas Tech (12-9, 3-4) and all scorers with 20 points. Alan Voskuil contributed 16 points and six boards, as the Red Raiders were unable to make a winner out of Pat Knight in his head coaching debut for the program. Pat took over the reins after his father and legendary head coach, Bob, resigned suddenly earlier in the week.

The Bears drained 55.0 percent of their shots from the floor in the first half and they took a 34-32 lead to the break.

In the second frame, Baylor converted 21-of-25 free-throw attempts, as it held on for the six-point win.

For the game, the Bears shot 52.3 percent from the field, in addition to making 32-of-40 attempts at the charity stripe.
