horseattackvo2008-02-08-1202526484.jpgYet another dog attack in Lubbock County leaves another miniature horse dead tonight.

The attack happened yesterday afternoon in the 1600 block of County Road 7340.  The Lubbock County Sheriff's Department says there were two dogs involved.  This, just a week after the five miniature horses in Hearts and Hooves were attacked by pit bulls.

Now Hearts and Hooves' Kauli Sparks says they plan to use the donations they've received for better security for their horses because the horses are defenseless against wild dogs.

"It's just heartbreaking because I just think about Oreo and wonder if he suffered and I know the suffering that the horses are going through right now and for that little horse that was killed last night, to have been alone I don't feel like he had a chance.  When they decide to attack, there's not much these little guys can do to protect themselves."

The horses have received over $10,000 dollars in donations...and the fund is still open.  To donate, you can go to Security State Bank and ask for the Hearts and Hooves fund.
