Final Score: Nebraska 73, Texas Tech 62

Lincoln, NE (Sports Network) - In Big 12 action at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, Nebraska denied Pat Knight his first victory as Texas Tech head coach, as the Cornhuskers upended the Red Raiders, 73-62 behind a 22-point, 14-rebound effort from Aleks Maric.

Ryan Anderson also contributed a solid 19-point, seven-rebound performance for Nebraska (14-7, 3-5 Big 12), while Steve Harley and Cookie Miller chipped in with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Red Raiders (12-10, 3-5) dropped their second straight game despite four players notching double figures. Mike Singletary posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Martin Zeno paced TTU with 16 points. Alan Voskuil came off the bench to compile 14 points, and John Roberson rounded out the high-scorers with a 12-point effort.

The Cornhuskers could hardly miss in the opening stanza, hitting 13-of-23 from the field and 10-of-11 from the stripe to take a commanding 40-28 lead at halftime.

Nebraska extended the lead to as many as 18 points in the second half and cruised to an 11-point win without breaking a sweat.

Nebraska only managed five bench points but its starters managed to shoot an impressive 23-of-38 from the field.
