City Addresses Dog Attacks With PSAs

Lubbock city leaders want dog owners to be more careful.
In response to the high number of recent dog attacks, there is a new public service announcement reminding dig owners of their responsibilities.
The message says of your dog gets loose and attacks someone, you are responsible under Texas Law.
That means fines and possible jail time.
"Until the owners understand that it is a serious offense if your animal attacks someone and takes their life, or causes serious bodily injury, this is going to help us get that message out," said Kevin Overstreet of City Animal Control.
The new PSA will air later this week.
