Lubbock's 100th Birthday celebration officially kicks off a week from Sunday, and crews are already busy gearing up for the opening ceremonies at the City Bank Coliseum.
Lubbock turns 100 in March of next year, but the city's centennial committee is planning a year-long celebration that starts next Sunday, March 2nd. The event will highlight Lubbock legends like Mac davis, Joe Ely, and Barry Corbin who will all be there to party with the people of Lubbock. Matt Arnold with Miller Pro Audio says it will take all week for his crews to set up for the event. It's expected to be the biggest performance in coliseum history.
The party starts next Sunday night at 7:00 at the City Bank Coliseum. If you want more information, you can visit Lubbock100.com. Reserved seating is available for next week's concert and party. Tickets are $5.00 and you can get them at Select-a-Seat by calling 1-800-735-1288 or locally at 770-2000.
