Dangerous Intersection

Two days after a deadly crash at the intersection of I-27 and the North Loop, North Lubbock residents are speaking out about the dangers of the intersection. Christy Severy lives in the new Betenbough division in North Lubbock, a big contributor to the increase in traffic at the intersection. Severy says she holds her breath every time she drives through the intersection, because you just never know what people are going to do. Whether they will stop or try to out run you. Other people who live in the new Betenbough division say the same thing. They say they've witnessed several accidents at the intersection, some worse than others, but one accident is too many when you have kids. Severy says some of the roads only have one posted sign that says "one-way" and if you've already passed that sign then you may not know which direction to go. She says she's seen several people driving the wrong way through that intersection.
Residents say a stop light at the intersection may help the situation. But, overall people need to pay attention and obey all traffic laws to keep everyone safe.
