The Kenyan native becomes the third female in NCAA history to repeat in the 5000M. Her time of 15:31.91 dominated the field as her time was 23 faster than her closest competitor.

"I am just very glad to be able to be here, to come back and try to defend my title. It was a blessing for me to be able to defend my title. I am very excited about it and very happy," Kipyego expressed after the race.

Three-time All-American Shawon Harris broke the school record twice in the 60M hurdles. He qualified for finals with a 7.72 and turned around two hours later to run a personal best and school record of 7.68 to finish fourth. The fourth place finish gives Harris his fourth All-American honor of his career.

Kipyego will look to defend her 3000M title tomorrow at 7:50 p.m. Other Red Raiders competing are Lyle Leong (high jump), Anthony Flemons (triple jump), Julianne Kennedy (pentathlon), Patience Knight (shot put) and the men's 4x400M relay.
