More than twenty witnesses have taken the stand in the capital murder trial of Rosendo Rodriguez III.Rodrigez pled not guilty Monday, but one has disputed that he killed Summer Baldwin.
He's claiming self defense, saying Baldwin pulled a knife on him.
The defense says the sex between the two was consentual, and he didn't know Baldwin was pregnant.
Investigators, hotel employees, and a Walmart cashier helped the jury piece together what happened that weekend, from when Rodriguez flew into Lubbock, checked into the Holiday Inn (under a different name), to when he was arrested in San Antonio that following Thursday.
The testimony was backed up by credit card records and the surveillance video linking Rodriguez to the suitcase.
The Lubbock police officer who arrested him said Rodriguez showed no emotion.
