After kicking a field goal to go up 38-7 in the 3rd quarter, it was all downhill for Glen Mason and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Red Raiders came back to score 31 unanswered points to tie the game in regulation and force overtime. Once in overtime it was all Texas Tech, as Shannon Woods crossed the goaline to give the Red Raiders the biggest come from behind win in bowl game history. And today, according to ESPN, that loss coupled with a 6-7 record cost Glen Mason his job. Minnesota is expected to announce Mason`s firing at a press conference later today. Mason had signed a 4 year contract extension worth more 1.65 million last New Year`s Eve, and today on the Eve of 2007, Glenn Mason is unemployed.
