consecutive wins with 29 in their 11-0 run-rule domination of the College of the
Southwest Mustangs Tuesday afternoon at Hays Field. LCU followed up with a
comeback victory for their 30th straight win in a 9-3 decision over

allowing seven earned runs and nine hits in 1.1 innings of action.
After starting off with a barrage of runs in the first
game, three scoreless innings led the way in the second contest. The game’s
opening run was not scored until Chaps Vince Bejar hit a sacrifice fly for the
1-0 lead in the fourth inning. The Mustangs responded in the top of the fifth
inning with Matt Peoples tying the game with a line drive to left field. Felix
Mejias then fouled out for a sacrifice fly to bring in a run for a 2-1 Mustang
lead. CSW’s Eric Hellekson singled to centerfield to make it 3-1.
In the bottom of the fifth, LCU launched their comeback
beginning with Will Stramp singling to left field for an RBI. He scored Buck
Britton, who doubled to left field to start the inning. With the bases loaded
and two outs, Mustang pitcher D.J. Gambino walked Dominguez for another score to
tie the game at 3-3. Bejar continued the scoring bringing in two runs after
singling to center field on a ball Peoples couldn’t catch on a dive. Robertson
extended the lead to 7-3 with a triple to right-center that allowed two runners
to reach home plate. Stramp reached on a fielder’s choice for a score, and
Learned singled to centerfield for the final RBI of the day for a 9-3 win.
Eleven players recorded offensive statistics in the second game, and Stramp led
the way with two runs, three hits, and two RBIs in four at-bats. On the day

off four hits in 1.1 innings.
