On Saturday, hundreds took a stand for abused children across the South Plains. The rally was held at Kastman Park, organized by the Childrens Advocacy Center of the South Plains. They interview abused children and those who have witnessed serioues crimes. With almost one thousand kids intervewed last year, they called on the community to take a stand against child abuse. Participants held signs representing each child helped by the center last year. Says Carmen Aguirre of the Advocacy Center, "This is all for the kids. Its showing solidarity. Its showing abused children that we care, that we refuse to stand by, that all of us are going to start standing up and taking responsibility for reporting and making sure children get in a safe place."
