klienvisitorsvo2008-05-02-1209780922.jpgCouncilman Todd Klein asked Visit Lubbock for information on the benefits of the proposed Lubbock Visitor Center.

Instead of handing over the documents, Gary Lawrence and Marcy Jarrett of Visit Lubbock demanded he fill out an Open Records Request.

Their response shocked the council liaison who asked on Klein's behalf. Klein says this is highly unusual, and the last council member to be asked to fill out an ORR was Victor Hernandez in 1997.

KLBK spoke Lawrence and he said Visit Lubbock was just following state law.

Last week, KLBK asked Marcy Jarrett what people could expect from the new visitor center, and besides tax revenue Jarrett said she needed more time to give specifics.

Klein was given some of his requested documentation only after filling out an ORR, and he says he feels because he lead the charge against the Visitor Center, he's getting the run around.

KLBK has requested the same information as Klein and specifics on what exactly is being built. We want to here what you want there so please fill out our survey on the front page.
