Two young men are in jail after being caught stealing from a house in Lubbock County. Kelly Kitten noticed two men breaking into his sister's house around nine this morning.
So Kitten followed down FM 1585 after they left the house and called police. The two 17-year-olds were caught by sheriff's deputies and Cooper school police. Officers recovered all of Kitten's sister Karla's things.. including her piggy bank.
The two young men arrested began confessing to several other burglaries and that investigation led deputies to four other men who barricaded themselves in a house on Amherst street near Frankford. After a three hour standoff, the four men wanted in connection with nearly 10 burglaries were arrested, and it's all thanks to Kelly Kitten.
Major Don Carter, Lubbock Co. Sheriff's Dept.:
"The residents inside didn't want to come to the door. They obtained a search warrant, and pursuant to that search warrant, they had every intention of being able to search the house. Just prior to them getting in and making entry into the house, they started to come out, at which time they were taken into custody."
Karla Kitten:
"Oh, he would do anything for us. My brother is wonderful. And he's really wonderful now! But, he would do anything for anybody at any time... whatever it took. He would lay his life down for them basically."
