A Lubbock grandmother proves its never too late to graduate! 89 year old Elleta Nolte will walk the stage on Saturday at Texas Tech. Six of her nine children graduated from the university and so she decided to follow in their footsteps! She started classes in 1992 but took an extended hiatus. She returned to the universtiy at age 80, taking the bus and walking the campus with all the other students. On Saturday, shell finally graduate with a bachelors in General Studies. Elleta lost her husband last year but says she knows how happy he would be for her accomplishment. "After he died, I had about 4 or 5 courses left, but I really didnt care anymore. It was difficult losing him because whatever I did he supported me completley. So I decided to withdraw but Tech said no so I stayed in there and I finished. He would be very proud, and I think when I walk across that stage I think hell be holding my hand."
