Red Raiders Garner Player of the Week Honors

Two Red Raider athletes were honored by the Big XII Conference today as players of the week.
Red Raider senior guard Jay Jackson was named as the Big XII`s basketball player of the week for his role in Tech`s 2-0 record on the week. Jackson hit the game winning shot in Texas Tech`s upset of then number six ranked Texas A&M. He followed up his 31 point performace against the Aggies with a 28 point output in Tech`s thrashing of Colorado at home over the weekend.
Doug Thennis of Texas Tech baseball was also named Big XII player of the week. Thennis hit .500 for the week, including 10 RBI`s and 2 home runs, in Tech`s perfect 4-0 record last week.
