SOTOFREE-SOTVO2008-05-20-1211338565.jpgPablo Soto of Post was sentenced to 30 years in jail without parole for the beating death of his girlfriend Socorro Storie.  That sentence was handed down in November of 2007.  On May 19th, 2008 Soto was set free.  A parole board set Soto free due to a medical condition, that condition being cancer.  The TDCJ confirmed the medical release but refused to release what kind of cancer Soto has or how severe his condition is.  Soto has returned to Post where he will return to his life just months after being convicted of murder.  Soto will have to report to a parole officer and take mandatory drug tests as part of his release.
