Near hurricane-force winds swept through south Lubbock last night. The sudden "microburst" produced up to 65-mile an hour winds. The Sudsy Springs Car Wash suffered the worst of it when the buildings roof collapsed. Several power lines were downed in the storm, turning off traffic lights, and knocking out power to entire city blocks. The wind also a few trees that fell on homes and cars. Folks say it happened so fast, they didnt really know what hit them.
