Food and oil companies are supporting a plan aimed at *removing ethanol plants like the ones in plainview and hereford. They say ethanol, which is fuel made from corn and other grains, is driving up the cost of food and gas. But ethanol supporters tell us the fuel is actually the answer to high gas prices, and prices would be much worse if there was no alternative fuel like ethanol. They say higher grocery prices are due to energy and tranportation costs, due to rising gas prices. Ethanol has little to do with the price hike at the grocery store.
