Crane Collapse

A construction crane toppled off the Marsh Sharp Freeway Tuesday morning, backing up traffic through the afternoon. TXDOT says the crane was hoisting large aluminum light poles when the machinery lost it's balance; the crane operator was able to jump out and run to safety. The crane was on loose dirt when it toppled instead of operating from the solid road bed, they believe that to be the cause of the accident. No one was hurt, no traffic accidents were caused by the delay.
