8LINERpkg2008-05-30-1212204235.jpgAfter federal, state, and local law enforcement raided an 8-liner business in Tahoka on Wednesday night, we talked to the Lubbock's Assistant DA about exactly what's legal and what's not. Assistant DA John Grace has been working on gambling raids for years. He says if a game room rewards customers for playing a game of chance, that's breaking the law.

Of course there are exceptions like the games in arcades, but if you're caught in this criminal activity, plan on some hefty consequences. "Everytime in Lubbock that we have done a gambling operation, the penalties have gotten stronger, the charges, we've gone up the ladder," says Grace. "And Lubbock is not the place that anyone wants to come and open up one of these businesses."
