A real estate company is looking to buy up homes in the Arnett Benson area and that has some residents worried about the fate of their neighborhood. Wells Home Solutions sent letters asking residents to sell their homes, but many who live in the neighborhood fear this will become another North Overton-type project where their homes will be destroyed, or worse, that their neigborhood will fall apart with more rental properties and fewer family owned homes. Says District 1 City Council Representative Linda Deleon, "North Overton was majority rental, and we had a big decay of that neighborhood. This is a very vibrant neighborhood, and I want to see it continue that way." "Its not as big of a deal as people are making it," explains Matt Smith of Wells Home Solutions. "Its simply for investment purposes."
