WATERWOES-VO2008-06-12-1213323970.jpgAccording to City of Lubbock officials, the Lake Alan Henry Pipeline will be able to provide 50 percent of lubbock's water needs, but as the other 50 percent drys up, Lubbock will need new sources.

Assistant City Manager Tom Adams said those new sources are already being looked into.

Current ideas being tossed around the table are a reservoir near Post and tapping in to the North Fork of the Double Mountain Fork of th Brazos River.

Unfortunately, these projects will cost money.

How will they be funded? Look at your water bill.

"Water is very expensive because the projects are very expensive," said Adams.

The Lubbock City Council has already approved a series of rate increases that will more than double what you are paying in the next five years.
