This weeks rain helped revive the South Plains cotton crop, but some farmers are now hurting after hail hammered their fields. With very little rainfall, it was a rough spring for cotton farmers. Many say they were worried about the fate of the crop til the recent rains. But with the rain came a large amount of hail that peppered fields across the South Plains. Many plants were damaged, but farmer Don Langston says hes hoping the majority of the crops will still survive. "When youre pouring money into it and buying $4 diesel and paying big bucks for the electricity and the natural gas to pump the water, you get a little anxious. Were hoping for more rain with no more hail to get some more deep moisture down and to get this crop started off a little better than it has been in the last month."
