In downtown Lubbock today, routine SWAT training leaves a bad taste in some mouths.

The Red Carpet Restaurant at Main Street and Avenue L was empty today.

Restaurant workers say SWAT team members who surrounded the restaurant are to blame.

They say the uniformed men with guns scared customers away.

The training carried over into lunch, the only hours the restaurant is open to the public during the week.

Server Russell Peck says the training will also affect his wallet.  "A normal lunch in tips, I do anywhere from $30 all the way up to $90 or $100 and today I've made none."

The Red Carpet Restaurant hopes to make up today's loss later this week.
