If recent rains have your grass and weeds getting tall, you may want to get out the lawnmower.

Lubbock code enforcement officers were out inspecting south Lubbock neighborhoods today.

Officers are keeping an eye out for unkept lawns, trash and junked cars.

Code enforcement manager, Stuart Walker, says if you're violating a code, you'll get a friendly reminder first.

He says, "That's one of the good things about these neighborhood deployments, it gives us an opportunity to talk to the folks in the neighborhood and say you might want to get on top of this before we have to come back."

Walker says if you have any questions about code violations, you can call the Enforcement Department at 775-2126.
